Movement is something we do everyday- walking, doing house work, playing sports, even sitting at a computer we’re moving BUT how well?
Most people aren’t aware of how they move, and how poor movement affects their body. At The Physio Clinic Bristol, we can help you move better, decrease your injury rate and make you perform better in your daily activities or sport.
What is Movement Health?
Movement Health looks at how we move and how we can improve movement and perform better in daily life and activity. Movement impairments affect our muscloskeletal system (muscle, tendons, bones) and repeated movements cause overloading of these structures leading to pain, injury and decreased performance in daily activities and sports.
We use a system of identification and re-training to then help you move better, perform better and reduce your risk of injury.
Assessment- our skilled Movement Specialists will take you through a battery of tests, looking at how you move, how you cheat in your movement patterns and identify your weaknesses and restrictions
Analyse- after completing the Movement Testing, our skilled Movement Specialist will review your test results and produce a structured re-training plan.
Re-training- we work with you over a series of months, educating you and your brain on how to activate and recruit muscle, reduce restrictions and improve your performance.
We believe in quality and not quantity of exercises, so you will never be given more than 6 exercises in any re-training programme.
What services do you offer?
Movement Screening
At The Physio Clinic we offer very specialised movement screens.
We will ask you to complete a series of movements and ask you to perform them to the best of your ability. We then identify parts of the movement you couldn’t perform.
At the end, you will get a report which will highlight impairments that are responsible for injury risk.
Be proactive about your Movement Health and don’t wait until you cannot do something before you take action!
