Your massage will be conducted in side lying, with the use of pillows to ensure comfort throughout, by mother and specially trained pregnancy massage therapist, Liz Guest.
In addition to the overall wellbeing benefits, pregnancy massage also relieves conditions which are common during pregnancy such as
- Lower and upper back pain
- Shoulder tension
- Carpel tunnel syndrome
- Sciatic pain
- Swelling and muscular cramps
Prior to your massage, care will be taken to discuss which trimester you are in and any problems to date, as well as assessing for any contraindications such as abdominal pain or discharge, and conditions such as high blood pressure, pre-eclampsia and diabetes.
If you are deemed to have a high-risk pregnancy, you will need to provide a note of consent from your doctor prior to any massage taking place.
