How do I organise treatment through my insurance company?

It is usual procedure to see your GP or Consultant first to claim under most insurance companies, but contact your insurance provider to check their policy.

If you claim under a cash back scheme, you normally don’t need to get a GP referral, but please check if you are unsure.

Once you have contacted your insurance company and they are aware that you are having treatment at The Physio Clinic Bristol, they will give you an authorisation code. You will need to bring this code, along with your membership number to your initial appointment.

Failure to provide both a valid membership number and/or authorization code may result in the patient (you) being liable for payment.

It is the patient’s sole responsibility to ensure continued cover, and to let The Physio Clinic Bristol know if their cover expires.

How do I pay?

We will invoice your insurance company directly, so there is no need for you to pay upfront.

Any excess or shortfall in the cover is the responsibility of the patient, and where an account is not settled in full by the insurance company, the patient will be liable for the shortfall.

How do I claim under a cash back scheme?

You will be asked to pay for the treatment on the day and a full receipt will be provided to enable patients to directly claim back from their insurance company. E.g BAWA, Simply Health

What is not covered under Private Medical Insurance at The Physio Clinic Bristol?

Promotional rates are not applicable to those claiming under private medical insurance.

Most insurance companies do not cover Sports Massage but some “cash back schemes” do. Please check with your provider prior to booking your treatment.

Consumables e.g braces, insoles, tape, Theraband, are not covered under private medical insurance and the cost of any equipment is the responsibility of the patient.
